Mission Statement
Christopher McDonald
Screenwriter / Director / Film Lover
For as long as I can remember I’ve been fascinated by stories – their power to connect and communicate ideas across centuries and mediums cannot be overstated. Human history is etched in the tales crafted by those individuals driven to educate and entertain. From celebrating a successful mammoth hunt to the journey of Odysseus, from the tragedy of Othello to the downfall of Walter White – stories have been an invaluable source of wisdom and experience.
As a young child, I used my family’s VHS camcorder to make short (and sometimes not so short) films about everything under the sun – dinosaur thrillers in the vein of Jurassic Park acted out by action figures, a loving homage to the late Steve Irwin’s animal adventures, a trilogy involving a cloning serum used to create a series of doppelgangers, each with their own unique personality and traits (a la Multiplicity), and many more. While crude by any modern standard, creating and sharing these videos with friends and family cemented my love of using visual media to entertain.
Since those days many years ago, I have continued to pursue my passion of storytelling – graduating with a degree in Media Studies (with a minor in photography), designing and crafting a full campaign of television PSAs for the Georgia state government, and (most recently) by striking off on my own to start a career in film and screenwriting. Each new day in this journey serves to challenge and educate me in ways I never could have imagined – already, this process has been the hardest and most rewarding thing I could have ever attempted.
So, if you love surprising and compelling narratives full of fun and entertaining characters, yearn to see unique and original stories on the big (and small ) screen, and if you want to see what someone passionate about creating worthwhile and engaging stories can accomplish – I invite you to keep an eye on Triple Zero Films.
I look forward to sharing this journey with all of you.
History
Triple Zero Films was founded in 2008, originally little more than a YouTube channel.
Videos consisted of the “Mandlbaum” Machinima series, a 14-part reality show called “The Kings,” and assorted skits and shorts. While marginally successful, the goal was never more than to share fun and original content with the world.
Partnership with Volunteer Macon
In the 5 years between 2011 and 2016, Triple Zero Films worked on Television PSAs for the “Be the Wall” campaign against underage drinking.
Working on a government grant, Triple Zero Films helped craft a PSA (Public Service Announcement) campaign which was produced in-house, from script to screen. A total of 8 commercials, along with multitudes of print ADs ranging from posters to T-Shirts, were released and distributed across a wide swath of Georgia.
Production company
In 2017, Triple Zero Films’ tenure as a genuine production company began.
Motivated to begin production of its first feature-length film, Triple Zero Films began contacting relevant authors to secure the rights to Forbidden Dish. Since then, work has been non-stop on all aspects of Pre-Production.
